Japan Petroleum Exploration Co Ltd (JAPEX) has started the construction of the 50 MW Ozu Biomass Power Plant project located on about 2.57 hectares of land in the industrial park of Ozu city in the Ehime Prefecture, Japan.
The project is supported by local firms Maeda Corp, Yonden Business Co Inc and Shinko Denso Co Ltd, including JAPEX through a special purpose company, Ozu Biomass Power Co Ltd (OBP).
The biomass power plant will use imported wood pellets as fuel to generate about 350 GWh of energy per year. The plant is expected to be operational by August 2024.
