Japan Renewable Energy Corporation (JRE) is partnering with wpd AG for the development of the 299.5 MW offshore wind farm project in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.
The Saikai Enoshima offshore wind farm will be developed under the special purpose vehicle GK Saikai Enoshima Offshore Wind, controlled by Saikai Enoshima Beteiligungs GmbH, a whole-owned subsidiary of wpd, and JRE. Located on the coastal island of Enoshima in Sakai city, the project will have up to 24 wind turbines with individual generating capacities of 14 MW and 15 MW.
The project is expected to be operational by 2028.
