Infigen has commissioned the 25MW/52MWh Tesla battery storage facility near 278 MW Lake Bonney wind park in South Australia.
The Lake Bonney Wind park consists of three wind farms that have a combined output of 65 GWh, up from 43 GWh generated a year.
In October, the storage facility that uses Tesla Powerpack technology was energized. The construction of the storage system was executed in two phases, with a total cost of AUD38 million (US$25.8 million). The project has received AUD 10 million (USD 6.8 million) from the South Australia state government and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).
