APA Group has started the commercial operations of the AUD40 million Badgingarra solar farm in Hill River, Western Australia.
The Badgingarra solar farm consists of 62,000 solar panels, installed across 40 hectares of land, and has a capacity of 19.25 megawatts. The facility is expected to generate electricity to supply for up to 6,000 local homes.
The Badgingarra solar farm is the fourth facility of APA's renewables precinct, co-located with the 130 MW Badgingarra Wind Farm, 79.3 MW Emu Downs Wind Farm and 20 MW Emu Downs Solar Farm. The precinct has a combined total of 250 MW, it includes 85 wind turbines and nearly 140,000 solar panels.
