The Government of New South Wales has approved the development of the 90 MW West Wyalong solar project proposed by the Lightsource Development Services Australia Pty Ltd, a unit of Lightsource BP.
The AUD136 million (US$92.9 million) project will have battery storage. The solar farm will have an export capacity of 90 MW, producing 226,000 MWh of clean, renewable electricity a year.
The construction of the solar plant is set to start by the fourth quarter of 2020.
