Infrastructure group AECOM has secured a contract for the planning and development of a 2 GW offshore wind project in Australia.
The Star of the South wind project will be developed off the coast of Gippsland in Victoria. It consists of about 250 wind turbines installed in waters 8 km to 13 km from the Port of Albert.
AECOM will assist the project developers in the construction. The offshore wind farm is a joint development of Melbourne-based Offshore Energy Pty Ltd and Danish fund manager Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners K/S (CIP).
