Sterling and Wilson Solar has started the construction of a 200 MW solar project in Australia.
The project will be using Canadian Solar bifacial panels to cover 490 hectares of land in Wellington Town, in New South Wales (NSW).
The Solar Farm is being developed by Lightsource BP and scheduled to be commissioned by December 2020.
The project is expected to generate about 435 GWh of power annually, enough solar energy to supply for about 70,000 homes and avoid 336,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.
Lightsource BP will supply energy to Snowy Hydro under a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
