Iberdrola has commissioned the 33.6 MW Mikronoros wind farm in the province of Rodopi, Greece.
The plant, which features eight 105-meter-high wind turbines with a 150-meter-wide rotor, will be able to provide sustainable energy to more than 34,000 houses.
Faraday and Hitachi were involved in the construction and civil works, respectively. Hitachi was also in charge of the electromechanical assembly at the Patriarchis substation. The substation was completely renovated with a new gas insulation system (GIS) on the outside and is owned by the Greek transmission grid operator (IPTO).
