ib vogt has started the commercial operation of the 116 MWp Coara Marang Solar Project, in consortium with its Malaysian joint venture partner, Coara Solar Sdn Bhd. The project is located in Marang, Terengganu, in the northeast of peninsular Malaysia.
The solar PV farm consists of 216,832 high-class bifacial solar panels mounted on single-axis trackers constructed on about 245 ha of area. The project has secured a 21-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in June 2020 with the Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
With an output of about 230 GWh per year, the project is expected to produce clean solar electricity equivalent to the average annual consumption of 55,000 households, offsetting up to 120,000 tons of CO2 per year.
