Aura Power secured project financing to construct Horton Solar Farm in East Devon

Aura Power has secured project financing for the Horton Solar Farm in East Devon, in the South West of the UK. This expands the construction portfolio to 298 MWp, with 196 MWp currently under construction and two additional projects expected to secure financing in early 2026. Kemble Solar Farm was the first to move into construction in March 2025, followed shortly by Grimsby Solar Farm and Burtree Lane Solar Farm. A fourth development, Rayleigh Solar Farm, which reached financial close in the autumn, is planned to begin construction in January 2026, starting with highway enabling works. The 49.9 MWp Horton Solar Farm in East Devon received unanimous planning approval in June 2023. Once operational, the project will generate enough clean electricity to power more than 12,000 homes each year, avoiding over 11,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually. 

Senior debt funding has again been secured from Rabobank, which has collaborated with Aura Power on every UK construction project so far, while Investec plc provided the junior financing. Construction of the Horton Solar Farm is set to start in May 2026, beginning with the installation of three new site access points ahead of the main construction phase. The project will be delivered by Aura Power’s EPC partner, ib vogt, with legal support provided by Burges Salmon’s Banking and Finance team.
