UK-based independent power producer Enviromena has acquired the 27.5MWp Parkgate Farm solar project near Braintree in Essex, England, from renewable energy developer Innova Renewables.
Announced on 22 October 2026, the transaction represents the first step in a wider partnership under which Enviromena expects to acquire a portfolio comprising 233MWp of solar projects and 75MW of co-located battery energy storage system (BESS) projects from Innova before the end of 2026. The acquisition will expand Enviromena’s renewable energy portfolio and support the development of additional utility-scale solar and battery storage assets across the UK.
The Parkgate Farm project has received the necessary planning consent and secured a Contract for Difference (CfD) under the UK government’s Allocation Round 6 (AR6). It is expected to be energised in summer 2028 and generate more than 28,000MWh of renewable electricity annually, equivalent to the electricity consumption of over 10,000 homes. The project will become Enviromena’s second large-scale solar farm in Essex, following the 71MWp Medebridge Solar Farm near South Ockendon, which has been operational since September 2025.
The partnership is intended to strengthen Enviromena’s portfolio of solar projects supported by long-term revenue arrangements and advance Innova’s strategy of developing and realising value from its renewable energy pipeline. Further acquisitions are expected to be completed in the weeks following the announcement. Innova was advised on the transaction by PKF Corporate Finance, Burges Salmon and OWC. The financial value of the Parkgate Farm acquisition was not disclosed by either company.
