Nel ASA has signed a EUR12 million (US$12.88 million) deal with HyCC for 40 MW of alkaline electrolyzer equipment for its H2eron project in Delfzijl, Netherlands. The FEED study for the power plant has been commissioned by Kraftanlagen Energien & Dienstleistungen.
SkyNRG will use hydrogen to make sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from industrial leftovers and residues like discarded frying oil. In coordination with SkyNRG and its partners, HyCC received the project's environmental permit and is working toward a final investment decision (FID) in 2024.
Production of electrodes is anticipated to begin in the Q4 of 2025. The 40 MW facility will generate its first hydrogen in 2026 to help in the development of sustainable aircraft fuels.
