HOFOR has acquirerd back the 10 turbines of the 40 MW Middelgrund offshore wind farm. The facility is located in the Øresund 3.5 km outside Copenhagen, Denmark. The other 10 turbines are owned by Middelgrundens Vindmøllelaug.
The wind farm was built by the two companies in 2001. Copenhagen Energy, which was known today as HOFOR, sold the 10 turbines to Energi E2 in 2003. Energy E2 later became part of the company that is today Ørsted. Now, HOFOR bought the 10 turbines back from Ørsted.
The said wind farm is authorized to produce until 2025.
