Uganda and HDF Energy have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop a green hydrogen power project in the country. In the jointly released announcement, the capacity of the facility and the scope of the investment were not disclosed.
HDF Energy expects the first green hydrogen power station in Africa, which will cost US$181,3 million, to begin producing electricity in Namibia by 2024.
Uganda currently utilizes hydroelectric and thermal power sources.
