Guzman Energy has secured approval from the Delta County Board of Commissioners for a limited use permit required for the development and operation of the 80 MW Garnet Mesa Solar photovoltaic (PV) project located in Southern Delta County, Colorado, USA.
The solar farm is expected to generate up to 194 GWh of energy per year once operational which is enough for the consumption of up to 18,000 homes. The energy produced by the project will be sold to the Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) with the remaining power sold separately to wholesale customers.
With the received permit, the developers of the project will now commence the engineering and procurement planning of the solar farm with the construction phase to follow in the following months.
