Norwich Solar has sold Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company LLC a 7.6 MWdc solar portfolio of up to nine pre-operational solar photovoltaic projects in Vermont, USA for an undisclosed amount.

When completed, the solar farms would reduce electricity costs for local farmers and revitalize brownfield lands that are currently unusable. Long-term net metering agreements are in place between the facilities and over 30 local farms and dairies around the state.

Each installation will generate roughly 840 kW DC of clean electricity. Five of the projects are expected to commence commercial operation by the end of 2022, while the remaining four facilities are anticipated to enter operation in Q2 of 2023.
