Goldwind has launched a sale process for a portfolio of over 1 GW of renewable energy generation developments across three Australian states that will have a project value of over AUD3 billion (US$2.2 billion) when constructed.
The portfolio, developed by Goldwind in conjunction with a number of partners, includes large wind and solar hybrid projects, as well as several wind projects across Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania, all promising excellent natural resources and grid connectivity.
All the projects have secured land rights and are either Development Application (DA)-approved or in the process of securing DA approval. The wind power sites will be supplied with Goldwind turbines and supplemented by Goldwind’s development capability.
The sale process will target existing participants and new entrants to the Australian renewable energy market who intend to accelerate growth of their Australian pipeline.
PwC have been appointed to run the sales process and will conduct a two-round auction of the portfolio. The transaction process allows for flexibility to acquire either 100% or a majority interest in the portfolio of projects.
