Capital Energy has signed a contract with General Electric (GE), to supply turbines and conduct a 20-year monitoring and maintenance services, for the 39 MW Loma de Los Pinos wind farm located in the province of Seville, Andalucia region, Spain.
The EUR36 million (US$43.37 million) project will consist of seven GE ‘Cypress’ model wind turbines with 5.5 MW each, 158 meters rotor diameter, and a hub height of 101 meters.
Capital Energy has started the construction of the project in December of 2020 and expected to complete it after a year. Once operational, the project is expected to produce up to 103,000 MWh annually, enough to supply the demand of about 40,000 homes and offset more than 41,000 tons of CO2 emission per year.
