The installation of the first of three turbines for 10 MW Vientos Patagonicos onshore wind farm located southernmost region has been finished. The assembly of the 2nd and 3rd wind turbine will be finalized at the end of September 2019.
Empresa Nacional del Petroleo (ENAP) is building the Vientos Patagonicos project in partnership with Pecket Energy SA in Punta Arenas, the capital of the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica Region.
Elecnor SA was selected as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor in charge of building the wind farm and Pecket Energy for constructing a medium-voltage line towards Punta Arenas.
The investment in the project is about US$22 million (US$19.9 million) with the regional government contributing US$3 million.
