The Environmental Assessment Service (SEA) of the Antofagasta Region in Chile has approved the Environmental Qualification Resolution (RCA) for the development of the Llanos del Viento wind farm planned by the Mainstream Renewable Power Chile.
The US$400 million 222.6 MW wind farm consists of 42 wind turbines of 5.3 MW each. It also considers the construction of a lift substation from 33 kV to 220 kV (SEE Llanos del Viento 33/220 kV), an underground channel of 33 kV and a Line High Voltage 220 kV.
Early July 2019, Mainstream has also received environmental approval for the 123 MWp Valle Escondido solar photovoltaic (PV) project in the region of Atacama.
