European Energy has secured planning permission for the construction of the 250 MW solar photovoltaic facility located in the municipality of Vizzini near Catania in Sicily, Italy.
The project is designed to generate enough power for the consumption of up to 130,000 homes, offsetting about 165,000 tons per year of carbon emission.
European Energy has already built many solar farms in Italy, notably the 130 MW Troia project in Apulia, which was Italy's largest solar farm when it was connected to the grid.
