Engie Brasil Energia SA's board of directors have approved the purchase of development rights for the 882 MW Serra do Assurua wind project in Bahia.
Engie Brasil will pay BRL265 million (US$52 million) for the assets from local renewable energy business PEC Energia SA. Twenty-four wind project development grants, a lease contract, wind measuring tower data, and other assets are included in the sale.
Serra do Assurua will be built in Gentio do Ouro, the same location where Engie's Campo Largo and Umburanas wind power facilities are located.
