Voltalia has announced the gradual commissioning of SSM1&2, a 320 MW project, part of the Serra Branca cluster, located in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte.
The commissioning of the projects started in early April 2022. The Serra Banca cluster has a total of 31,000 photovoltaic panels that are in operation, with a capacity of 18 megawatts. The SSM1&2 have a total capacity of 320 MW and are expected to be reached by June 30.
The construction of the SSM1&2 solar plant was launched in September 2021 and is backed by five long-term power sales contracts with an average duration of 16 years. Initially, with a capacity of 32 megawatts, the size of the project has been increased due to long-term contracts signed with a series of buyers, including a corporate PPA with Braskem, and a utility PPA with Copel.
Voltalia has announced that it has launched the construction of the 260 MW SSM3-6 (Solar Serra do Mel 3, 4, 5 & 6) solar power plant in Brazil.
