Brazilian power utility Companhia Paranaense de Energia (Copel) has started the testing of the 17.3 MW portion of its 90.1 MW Jandaira Wind Complex located in the state of Rio Grande for Norte.
The project consists of 26 wind turbines that form the wind complex. Five of these turbines will start the testing operation within this month and the remaining units will begin operation in a staggered manner until the end of 2022.
Once fully commissioned, the wind complex will represent about 14% of Copel's total installed capacity. Brazilian lender Banco do Nordeste do Brasil SA has supported the project by providing about half of the planned investment.
