German renewable energy developer Energiequelle GmBH has started the construction of its 28.5 MW Takanebacken wind farm project located in the municipality of Maalahti in Ostrobothnia, Finland.
The project will have five Nordex N163 turbines, each with a hub height of 148 m and an output of 5.7 MW. Energiequelle has awarded Ab Tallqvist Infra Oy the BoP contract for Takanebacken including roads, hardstands, foundations, and electrical cabling. The contractor for the substation will be VEO Oy. The earthworks are to be followed by the foundations in the fall.
The project is scheduled to be commissioned in the fall of 2022. It is expected to produce around 100 GWh per year, supplying around 18,000 households.
