European Energy has selected Enercon to provide turbines for the repowering of its old wind project in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, and to increase its capacity to 41 MW.
Enercon supplied European Energy with seven E-138 EP3 E2 units, two E-115 EP3 E3 turbines, and one E-103 EP2 machine. Enercon will also be responsible for the maintenance of the turbines.
The old wind farm has been in operation since 1999 and generates 20.6 MW. Its repowering will involve the removal of 16 old turbines. European Energy plans to open the wind farm in 2023.
