Enel Green Power Chile, a unit of Enel Group, has started the construction of its 163 MW solar photovoltaic project in the Atacama desert.
The Sol de Lila solar photovoltaic (PV) park will consist of about 407,400 bifacial monocrystalline PV panels. Enel is investing a total of US$130 million for the project. Once operational, it can generate up to 499.7 GWh of electricity per year.
The project is expected to be operational by July 2021.
