Enel Green Power has commissioned the 63 MW Lumina photovoltaic (PV) project in Călugăreni, Giurgiu County, Romania. The solar park, which has been acquired from MYTILINEOS, is the largest photovoltaic plant in Enel's portfolio in the country.
The Lumina Park sits on an expansive 88 ha area, with a linear length of almost 2 km. It features the latest photovoltaic technology and is equipped with approximately 120,000 bifacial monocrystalline panels, specifically the JA Solar 540 and 535 W models, known for their 30-year lifespan. These panels are capable of generating an annual electricity production of around 99 GWh. The park is also equipped with infrastructure, including 8 secondary substations with weather stations for monitoring environmental conditions and dust accumulation on the panels. Additionally, over 1,200 solar resource monitoring devices have been strategically installed to optimize the efficiency of solar energy utilization within the park.
The Lumina PV farm is connected to the high-voltage grid (110 kV) of the concessionaire distribution operator E-Distribuție Muntenia. The estimated energy production from the park is projected to reduce CO2 emissions by 112,387 tons per year.
