EDP Renewables has been awarded 20-year contracts in the renewables auction in Italy run by Gestore Servizi Energetici (GSE). The 159 MW projects, which are composed of both wind and solar capacity in a 70% to 30% ratio, are expected to be operational by 2024.
EDP Renewables has installed over 520 MW of renewable capacity in Italy and has over 230 MW of projects currently under construction throughout the country. Its first Italian wind farm began operations in 2012.
