The Ministry of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources of Ecuador has launched a tender for the development of the 14.8 MWp Conolophus solar photovoltaic project in Santa Cruz island.
The solar farm is integrated with a 40.9 MWh energy storage system. The entire project would require an estimated investment of about US$45 million. The project will be connected to a substation, the second circuit of a 34.5-kV sub-transmission line, and a microgrid central control system.
Once operational, it is expected to offset up to 16,000 tonnes of carbon emission.
