Earth & Wire has contracted Ambri Inc. to supply its Liquid Metal battery system for the development of the 300 MW/1,200 MWh hybrid wind- and solar-powered energy staorage facility in the Eastern Cape in South Africa.
Ambri's technology will help stabilize and manage fluctuations in supply and demand and work toward providing consistent and responsive electrical power to their South African customers.
The shipment of the batteries is expected to start in 2024 with installation to be completed in 2026.
