CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE) has installed the first jacket foundation at the 298 MW Zhong Neng wind project located off the western coast of Changhua, Taiwan. The jacket, which will host Vestas V174-9.5MW turbines, was installed by Green Jade, the first Taiwan-built offshore wind installation vessel operated by the company.
The Zhong Neng offshore wind project is co-owned by China Steel Corporation and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. The site reached a financial close in December 2021 and is expected to start commercial operations in 2024. The wind farm will comprise 31 Vestas V174-9.6 MW turbines, all of which are scheduled to be in operation in 2024.
CDWE has been selected for the transportation and installation of the 31 wind turbines at the offshore wind project. The company has been involved in the initial stages of the project, including the installation of the first jacket foundation.
