Commissioning contract awarded for 300 MW Offshore wind farm in Taiwan

James Fisher has won a commissioning contract for the 300MW Zhong Neng offshore wind farm in Taiwan.

The over GBP1 million (US$1.25 million) contract is for Zhong Neng to provide high voltage (HV) safety management services and high voltage (HV) professional staff.

James Fisher Renewable will be responsible for the high voltage network and electrical safety throughout the construction and commissioning phases of the onshore substation and wind turbine generators. James Fisher Renewables will guarantee the safe energization of Zhong Neng's HV network and a smooth transition for operations in the area by adhering to a customized set of safety regulations and procedures.

The Zhong Neng offshore wind farm, which is being developed in partnership with Denmark's Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and the China Steel Corporation, will have 31 turbines Vestas V174-9.6 MW turbines that provide clean energy to approximately 300,000 households in Taiwan.
