Canadian Solar Inc has completed the sale of the entire interest in the 635 MWp Jaiba V solar photovoltaic project located in the northeastern state of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
The project is in the advanced stage of development with the construction set to start in 2022. The facility is built on about 3,706 acres of land and is estimated to generate enough power for up to 500,000 households. Approximately 40% of Jaíba V's installed capacity is already committed through long-term PPAs (power purchase agreements), and the remaining energy will be sold in the free market.
VTRM Energia Participações S.A. is a joint venture between Votorantim Energia and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments).
