The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has extended the 30-day deadline it has set for the BRL988 million (US$262.15 million) loan granted to Renova Energia SA for the development of its 743 MW Alto Sertao III wind complex.

The loan is originally set to mature on July 15, 2019, but now extended to August 15. The bank expressed concerns about the loan due to uncertainties surrounding the planned sale process of the project and its existing PPA contracts.

The project is composed of 438 MW Phase A and the 305 MW Phase B. The project was supposed to be completed in 2015 but Phase A has been put on0hold at 87% completion since 2016.
