BlueFloat Energy has announced plans to construct the 1.7 GW Eastern Rise Offshore Wind Project off the coast of New South Wales, Australia. The wind farm will be located in the proposed offshore wind zone in the Pacific Ocean, and BlueFloat Energy is anticipating that it will take around seven years to develop and build the project.
The Eastern Rise Offshore Wind Project will be the country's second official offshore wind farm development zone, and public consultations on the specific area have recently begun.
According to BlueFloat Energy, the proposed site was chosen based on the quality of the wind resource in the region, as well as the availability of emerging energy infrastructure and the area's industrial development and power generation. The company did not provide details on the expected timeline for the start of construction, nor did it disclose the cost of the project.
