BlueFloat Energy has announced its plans to install 7.6 GW of offshore wind capacity in the Philippines with an accompanying investment of up to US$38 billion. The company acquired the wind energy service contracts for four sites in the country, covering Central Luzon, South Luzon, Northern Luzon, and Southern Mindoro. The proposals include four offshore wind projects, each with a capacity of between 1.5 GW and 3.5 GW, in line with the company's ambition to support the shift towards renewable energy sources.
The development of offshore wind projects in the Philippines represents a significant step towards the country's renewable energy targets.
