BELECTRIC has announced that it has secured a major contract for a large-scale solar project in India. The German company will construct, operate and maintain a 250 MW-AC photovoltaic power plant in Pavagada solar park, located in the state of Karnataka, south-west India, for Fortum Solar.
The project includes PV installations at five sites within the solar park totaling to 250 MW-AC. It will be the largest capacity installation that BELECTRIC has done in India. The company plans to start construction next month.
BELECTRIC established a solar EPC subsidiary in India in 2009. The company has been involved in Indian solar projects with an installed capacity of more than 360 MWp to date.
