Bayer de Mexico SA de CV, unit of German pharmaceutical company Bayer AG, has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Iberdrola for its 105 MW Santiago Eolico wind farm located in the municipality of San Felipe, state of Guanajuato, Mexico.
The Santiago wind farm is currently in its testing phase before entering commercial operation. Once operational, the project will supply energy to Bayer’s four plants in Mexico and 23 operation centers, located mainly in Sinaloa, Guanajuato, Jalisco, and Chiapas.
The 105 MW Santiago Eolico wind farm consists of 50 units of Gamesa 114-2.1 MW turbines and expected to offset up 250,000 tons per year of carbon emissions.
