Bahrain's Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs launches RFP for 72 MWac solar project in Sakhir

The Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs of Bahrain has launched a Request for Proposal (RFP) tender for the development of grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV) projects with a combined capacity of 72 MW AC installed across various sites in Sakhir under a Build Own Operate and Maintain (BOOM) scheme for 20 years.

The solar PV facilities will be constructed on the rooftops, car park shades, Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations, and grounds of the Bahrain International Circuit, University of Bahrain, Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre, and Al Dana Amphitheatre.

The deadline for the submission of documents to participate in the tender is on October 16, 2022.
