The ACWA Power-led consortium has signed the final financing agreements for the US$1.5 billion, 1.5GW Al Dur Independent Power and Water Plant (IWPP) Phase II project in Manama, Bahrain.
The project includes a gas-fired power generation facility of capacity up to 1,200 MW-1,500 MW and a desalination plant of 50 million gallons a day (MGD) or 227,304 Cubic Meters per Day (m3/d). It includes the construction of an underground and deep-sea tunnel, a side stream filter plant, interstage pump and the installation of gas turbines, steam turbines, chemical dosing systems, dissolved air flotation system, PLC control system and other related facilities.
