Alight has signed a 12-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with food retail group Axfood, for the 64 MW solar photovoltaic project located in Hallstavik outside Norrtälje, Sweden.
The project will be constructed on about 71 hectares of land and can generate up to 63 GWh of clean energy per year. For the first time in Sweden, Alight plans to use non-recourse project financing for the project. Traditionally, PPA-backed solar assets have been financed with local equity.
The construction of the solar farm is expected to start by June 2023 with target commissioning in Q2 2024.
