Alight

Company description

Alight, founded in 2013 as Eneo Solutions and headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a leading European solar developer and independent power producer. The company develops, owns, and operates both onsite and offsite solar projects across Europe, offering clean energy through long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) at fixed, low costs, independent of government subsidies. With a mission to “kick carbon off the grid,” Alight has established itself as a frontrunner in the Nordic solar market, having developed some of Sweden’s largest solar parks, including the 100 MWp Hultsfred Solar Farm, co-owned with Neoen, and an 18 MW park in Skurup for Martin & Servera. Alight’s portfolio includes over 1 GW of projects under development in the Nordics and an additional 170 MW across Europe, with an ambitious goal of achieving 5 GW of PPA-backed solar capacity by 2030. The company has expanded into markets such as Finland, Spain, France, the UK, Denmark, and Germany, supported by significant investments, including €150 million from DIF Capital Partners in 2022 and €110 million in debt financing from Rabobank in 2024. Alight also leads in co-located battery storage in Sweden, enhancing grid stability, and emphasizes sustainability through initiatives like agrivoltaics and community engagement.
