Air Products, OQ and ACWA Power have announced the signing of a multibillion-dollar Joint Development Agreement (JDA) for a green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility powered by renewable energy in Oman.
The JDA follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in December 2021. The project will be realized in Oman's Salalah Free Zone.
The facility will generate hydrogen by using electrolysis and air separation methods. Moreover, nitrogen and green ammonia will be produced, in addition to integrating solar, wind and energy storage resources.
