Air Liquide and Sasol have entered into two Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with TotalEnergies and Mulilo for the supply of 260 MW of renewable power to Sasol's Secunda site in South Africa, where Air Liquide operates the world's largest oxygen production site.

These PPAs represent the second set of agreements signed by Air Liquide and Sasol, following the 220 MW PPAs signed with Enel Green Power in January. Together, these contracts will provide a total of 480 MW of the joint commitment by Air Liquide and Sasol to procure 900 MW of renewable energy, contributing significantly to the decarbonization of the Secunda site.

TotalEnergies and Mulilo will develop a majority-owned 140 MW wind project and a majority-owned 120 MW solar project within the framework of these agreements with Air Liquide and Sasol. These projects are expected to be operational by 2025, subject to regulatory and financial approvals.

Air Liquide acquired 16 oxygen production units from Sasol in Secunda and has been operating them since June 2021 under a long-term supply contract.
