Lamprell has signed a large capacity reservation agreement to supply 92 turbine foundation pieces for the 4200 MW Norfolk Vanguard offshore wind farm project in the southern part of the British North Sea, approximately 47 km off the Norfolk coast, UK.
The agreement for reservation ensures the allocation of space at Lamprell's Hamriyah yard in the UAE. It involves providing the structures and transporting them to Tees Work Port in the UK. The Norfolk Vanguard project, now under RWE after its acquisition from Vattenfall, is anticipated to commence operations within this decade.
The facility will consist of 158 wind turbines to meet the electricity needs of 1.95 million UK households per year. The plant offsets 3 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually which is equivalent to 1.6 million cars removed on roads.
