Haizea Wind Group has started manufacturing monopiles (structures installed on the seabed to support offshore wind turbines) for the Norfolk Vanguard West offshore wind farm, located in the United Kingdom. To mark this milestone, Haizea Wind Group marked the first steel cutting at its facilities in the Port of Bilbao, coinciding with the visit of part of the project team.
Norfolk Vanguard West has a capacity of 1.4 GW and is being developed as part of a cluster with Vanguard East. Once fully operational, Vanguard West and East are expected to have an estimated combined installed capacity of 2.8 GW.
The offshore wind farm is located in the United Kingdom and forms part of a complex that could potentially generate a total of up to 2.8 GW, supplying renewable power for over 2.5 million British households.
This is the third contract for these large components to be executed at Haizea Wind Group’s Bilbao port facilities since their inauguration in 2024, further consolidating the company as a key player in the European wind supply chain.
