RWE completed 36 MW Onshore Wind Farm in Scotland

RWE has announced the successful completion and commissioning of its Camster II Onshore Wind Farm in Caithness, Scotland.

The 36 MW project was first consented to in July 2021 and construction started in 2023. It first generated electricity in March 2026 and is now fully operational with the capacity to power the equivalent of around 51,000 typical homes.

Camster II is RWE’s fourth operational wind farm in Caithness, adding to a growing cluster that delivers significant economies of scale and helps strengthen local job security.

Camster II consists of 10 turbines and is one of four new RWE onshore wind farms in Scotland under construction and the first to be completed and commissioned. Together the four wind farms total up to 232 MW - Camster II at 36 MW (Caithness), Strathy Wood at 63 MW (Sutherland), Enoch Hill at 70 MW (East Ayrshire) and Golticlay at 62.7MW (Caithness).
