AGL Energy and NBN Co have signed a six-year power purchase agreement (PPA), with NBN purchasing approximately 90 GWh of renewable energy annually and the associated certificates from Macarthur Wind Farm in Victoria, Australia.

The Macarthur wind farm is located in southwestern Victoria, 16 km east of Macarthur and between Hamilton and Warrnambool. It has 140 wind turbines with a total capacity of 420 MW. Over the past 10 years, the wind farm has generated an average of over 910,000 MWh of renewable energy per year, which is enough to power about 171,000 average Australian households. The Macarthur wind farm is operated and maintained by AGL, and AGL retains the rights to all renewable energy certificates and electricity output from the wind farm until 2038.
