Grok Ventures has completed the acquisition of SunCable.
The plan involves the export of clean energy from Australia to Singapore using a 4,200-km undersea cable. In the initial phase, a vast solar farm located in Australia's Northern Territory will provide a minimum of 900 MW of electricity to local industries in the Darwin area and export 1.7 GW to Singapore. The project's future goal is to increase this capacity by an additional 3 GW to serve Australian customers. The estimated cost for this initiative at its early stage is approximately AUD30 billion (US$19 billion). SunCable has undergone a restructuring, resulting in two distinct project streams: SunCable Australia and SunCable International.
